My son is 8 months old and has been constipated for weeks his pediatrician doesn't seem to be concerned, HELP!?

They keep telling me to give him Karo but it doesn't work and I have heard that it can be dangerous, I have tried glycerin suppositories and that doesn't work either, what else can I do? He is miserable.
