Are surgeons in danger of losing much of their autonomy?

They already have lost a great deal of their autonomy. So many people are so gung ho over suing for the stupidest reasons, the insurance companies and lawyers have gone ga ga over getting the big bucks from hospitals. $$$$$$$ Hospitals in turn, place so much restrictions on their physicians because of the insurance companies. No longer can patient care be the number one priority.
